Our homework is now in Google form or docs. And I have to make videos. I recorded a video about my favorite book.
It was online school time with Google Classroom. I do not study live with my teachers. They send video lessons and homework’s to our class. I rarely had home work in normal school days. But now I do homework in Google form or docs or making videos. Our English teacher told me and my classmates to record a video about our favorite book. I recorded the video about a book named “Messy goes to Okido – Sandwiches in Space”. Messy is a monster but he looks like a cat.
All of my teachers send lessons as they are at different cities. I like online school because it is easier for doing work. The videos are shorter than real school classes. But in Google Classroom, I cannot chat with my classmates in between the class. Yesterday I met my classmates through Google Classroom Meet. For the afternoon meeting, I got up quickly and got dressed up in my best clothes. I also ate lunch early. I was ready for the meeting half hour early. I was happy to see all my classmates.
One of my favorite podcast is BBC Learning. It is a podcast that tells different sounds, a poem, a rhyme, a story, and another rhyme. My favorite episode is about the farm and my brother’s is about the beach side. I love it because I want to be a farmer when I grow up.
I saw a green bug in my kitchen garden. I thought that it was a caterpillar that had munched all of the leaves on one of our plants. I saw a video on TED-Ed about why don’t lots of people eat bugs now? I was surprised when I learnt that cave men ate bugs for protein. People still eat bugs in tropical countries. I live in a tropical country and have seen fried bugs sold in local food market. But I don’t want to try bugs for a meal.
One evening, we cut ‘water spinach’, a green vegetable, from our kitchen garden. We made stir fry water spinach for dinner. YUMMY!!! I feel proud when I eat the vegetables grown in my kitchen garden.
From this week, I and my younger brother started playing outside every evening. We water the plants every day while having fun with water on the street. On the weekend, we visited a mall after two months. It was closed because of COVID-19 effect. When I entered the mall there was temperature check and a QR code scan. When I entered a small shop in the mall, there was another temperature check and another QR code scan. Now there were less shops. My favorite bakery, Bake-a-wish, was also gone. Lots of people were wearing face shields and gloves. The people who were buying fresh foods such as chicken, fish or vegetables were wearing plastic bags as gloves. There were red lines/arrows on the ground to maintain social distancing. But I enjoyed going to the mall after long time.
Until next time, Bye!!
