I have to run — and it is 6 miles/ 10 kilometres in 70 minutes. I am practicing everyday.
Hi today I am writing about fitness.
I have mentioned it a little before but didn’t put much thought in it.
Like I said before I have to run 6 miles/ 10 kilometers in 70 mins. So that is like 11 mins per mile 7 per kilometer. I have been practicing a lot nowadays and I have made a lot of improvements. Now I can run 3 miles/ 4.8 kilometers without stopping.
My dad usually wakes me up at 7:45 and we go for a run in the morning. We come back at 9 and then I start school at 9:30.
I really love running.
This week was normal. Nothing much happened. But the best thing is that I only have 8 days of school left. YAY! Well the next time I am writing is on monday so stay tune. And here is the joke of the day: What does a snowman eat for breakfast: Answer Frosty flakes. BYE!!

Guess what? I am so happy to tell you what we did this weekend. We went for a safari. That was a surprise because I had lost hope that anything would open. I am sharing all the pictures from my trip.
Well I am writing about the weekend today. Hope you all ENJOY it.
My dad announced that we were going somewhere special. “ Huh” ? I thought where in the world could we be going in corona times.
When we started on the drive we had all sorts of snacks and stuff. This was kind of weird. When we had almost been driving for 45 mins I saw the symbol for Six Flags Amusement park. This was getting really weird. I thought that all the Parks were closed.
Then my Dad said “ Ok guys time for the surprise.We are going on a drive through Wildlife Safari” . The second he said I felt so much excitement rushing through my bones that I felt like shouting out with joy and jumping all around.
When we drove into the Entrance there was such a huge line. Then my dad started talking , “Arnav this is the first day the drive thru Safari is opening so there had to be a line.”
I WAS SO BORED!!
When we entered the park it was 12:30 and we had been waiting for 30 mins. “ Gahh”
Then just as I was about to doze off I saw a sign that said – “ENTRANCE”
That second my dad announced that we were officially entering the Safari. There was a board that said that animals roam freely and do not touch or feed them.
So many signs. The last sign that said Keep windows closed at all times.
NOW the safari really started. When we entered there weren’t many animals at first. Except for some birds we couldn’t see any other animal.
Then there was a sign that said – “Entering Amazing Africa.” I got so excited .
The First animal we saw was an OSTRICH. I was sooooooooooooooooo happy coz on the trip while we were waiting for entrance, I told my mom I wanted to go to Africa so I could see an ostrich.
If you haven’t seen an ostrich before here is a photo we clicked. It is sooooooooooo tall.
When we thought we were gonna see the next animal we saw like 2 more ostriches. In fact they were all over the place they were running, eating and even fighting. Here is a video of them running.
Interesting fact about Ostriches: They cannot fly but they can run really fast, and in some places in Africa Ostrich races used to be a sport..
At the corner of my eye I spotted something big. It looked like a bull. Then it hit me “GUYS” !!! I shouted “ LOOK OVER THERE IT’S A BISON” It was humongous.
We were in awe. We got our cameras out and started taking photos, The bison was so close to our car. Our car was practically touching it. Here is a photo we took of the bison.
Interesting fact about Bison: Bison are the largest wild mammal in North America.
This safari was sooooo fun and I am just starting to begin the list. “ THUMP THUMP THUMP” Whoa am I seeing what I am seeing.
Okay, wait guess the animal.
30 ft tall, when talks sounds like a trumpet and has ears that are bigger than a baby. Did you guess it? Yea, it is an elephant. It was 7,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,00 times bigger than the bison.
Sadly they were in an enclosure . Well that makes sense, we don’t want angry elephants stomping on cars.
One walked over to the end of the fence line. It was so close to us. Everyone stopped to take pictures .
Interesting fact about Elephants: Their ears are shaped like the continent of Africa.
Suddenly I saw something in the tall grass. It was a zebra! Right in front of the car.
A question suddenly popped into my mind. Don’t zebras travel in herds? But this zebra was all lonely eating grass. Ok, I am going off topic but the animals that eat grass have food everywhere. They sleep on food, Run on food, ( This might be disgusting but they even poop on their food!!!)
Okay going back to topic.
We started driving again and we saw some animals; they were buffaloes. They were chilling a muddy pool of water. It was like they were sleeping with their eyes open.
If you don’t believe me here is an image. I am telling you they weren’t moving a muscle.
After we started driving again I saw a flash of balck and white. And that second a whole herd of Zebra came galloping over. It was so cool. We took so many pics they were amazing here is one of them so you can see how amazing they were.
Interesting Fact about Zebra: They are actually black with white stripes not white with black. They’re amazing right ?
I started relaxing in my seat and something caught my eye. There was a horn on top of a hill. That was really weird. Then after we drove around the hill there were 3 rhinoceros. It was so cool looking at their armored body. I was really surprised that they were not in enclosures.
Interesting fact about Rhino: Rhino horns are the same material as your fingernail
“ hop hop hop” There were a bunch of kangaroos. Most of them were laying down in shade. But some were hopping over to the side. The ones lying to the side were so chill but the ones that were hoping we’re going everywhere . Here is a photo we took of the ones that were lying down.
Right ahead we saw a sign that said BEARS.
And there it was a big brown bear standing on its hind legs.. There were so many of them. I also saw the big black bear.
As we were driving we saw a gigantic board that said “ KINGS LAND”
When we entered there was a big group of female lions. We all got our cameras out and started clicking.
And then the big attraction, the king of the jungle. ( DRUM ROLL PLEASE) The male lion. The mane was so big, it was amazing.
For some reason all the cars stopped. I peeked out the window to see what the hold up was. Then I saw the huge giraffe licking a car. It was so cool and that car was so lucky, I wish it was our car. But a staff car came along and it took the giraffe away with some bait. =(
Interesting fact about Giraffes: They have the same number of neck bones as us, 7
Finally we reached the exit gate. I was so sad that the safari had ended.
Well what did you think ? Did you like it ? Well that was only one part of my weekend here is the second.
My dad said that N.A.S.A. ( National Aeronautics space administration) Is launching a rocket at 3:22 and the time was 3:20 I was thrilled.
The countdown has begun. 10, 9 , 8 , 7 , 6 , 5 , 4 , 3, 2, 1 BLAST OFF.
The launch was so cool. This was the first time I got to see a live rocket launch.

Is this a season for computer crashing? Now it was my turn. Crazy week
Ok I am going to summarize the whole week at once. THIS WEEK WAS CRAZY !!!
Just a couple days ago Deepti’s computer crashed. We weren’t able to post diaries for 3 days, that’s sad. But I am not here to talk about her computer crashing, I am here to talk about mine. So on tuesday just when I was about to start school my computer crashed. If you are wondering how I am writing I will explain that later. So I couldn’t do my work.
Then when we googled how to “uncrash” it, we got the explanation. But there were a lot of things you needed. First we needed a 8 gb recovery thingy and then we had to delete the files on the thingy and then insert it in the computer. But guess what IT DIDN’T WORK !!!
So we had to be creative. We couldn’t go out to buy a new one. We had to do it some other way. Then my dad remembered that we had a computer upstairs that he bought on thanks-giving and he hadn’t opened it yet. But when we opened it up and got it running it was so tricky to use. I mean all I had before was a chrome-book which was so easy to use but then this comes along and I have no Idea what buttons are what. This is how my new computer looks.
So that is that computer and this is my old one
That was only one part of my week. Here is the second.

This week we finally baked the cake. And Just looking at it made me wanna gobble it up. When I bit into it It tasted so good I wanted to keep eating. It was the best chocolate cake ever.

Okay let’s get things straight this is no longer a corona diary it is a normal one but I am just writing in the corona times.
Okay to the diary. This morning after I finished eating breakfast ( which was AMAZING) I started getting off my chair and stubbed my toe ! It hurt so much. After that I went to play with my brother, but as soon as I got to him my mom called me for milk. Then I ran back, hopped back onto my chair and stubbed that same toe again !

I am really mad that the corona is here. A year or two ago when everything was normal it was so much easier. Like to go to shops, the parks and even the pool.
When my family and I were on a walk we saw constitution on the neighborhood pool.
We were wondering what was going on. If they are opening the pool I don’t know what they are thinking. To be completely honest I really want to go to the pool.

Are aliens real?
Sometimes I sit on my table wondering. Are aliens real ? As I sit on my porch staring off into space I wonder and wonder and wonder.
Then I thought I would write about it.
I mean have you ever thought about it I mean is there any life up there. Have they seen us ? Have they broken the time and space continuum.
I really want to go to space. But there are also so many dangers in space. I mean we might be aliens for what we call aliens.
Have you ever thought about giants. Well they are real. We are giants!! Ever think of stuff from a different perspective. For bugs we are humongous. Well that’s all for right now so bye for now.

I want to speak about my imagination today. People think I imagine a lot. What do you think?
I want to talk about imagination. Some people ask me why I have such a big imagination. Well if you are imaginative you almost never get bored. This might seem childish but I imagine all the rooms in my house as a planet. It is really fun you can sit around the house imagining anything, such as you are a superhero or you are an astronaut. I am playing with Word Fonts (but unfortunately it cannot be seen on the website)
You are probably wondering what is up with my font.
Well I decided to change it up so Things will get a bit more exciting and fun.
Days right now are really hard for me because I have allergies and they give me stuffy noses, itchy and watery eyes.
If you are wondering what I have an allergy to, the answer is pollen. My family and I go on walks ( I mentioned a few blogs ago, check that out if you don’t know what I am talking about.)
There is pollen everywhere but I love the outdoors. I love biking, walking and all those things. They are so much fun.
With these allergies I lose a lot of sleep and wake up really early.
Well enough with that topic let’s move on.
My friends and I bike together ( of course we stay 15 feet apart)
And when we talk we are practically shouting to each other it is so much fun.
We talk about what we do usually at home and a lot of other things. Sometimes we have races ( running) and we really challenge ourselves. I love spending time with my friends. And also when we do this we do all sorts of challenges. For example we see who can run the fastest. Or who can bike the fastest it is so much fun.
Ok another change of topic and fonts. Since we had my brother’s birthday on April 17 my mom is coming up June 26 then my Dad’s on August 1. We needed cakes but science corona is here we can’t buy them because it is too risky so my mom and I had a great Idea we could bake them.
The first time we tried we made it from scratch and it was a coffee cake and turned out delicious. The next time we had the powder to make the batter but after we took it out the oven, the outside was nice and crisp. BUT!! The inside was bubbling and mushy it was so funny my family had a good laugh. But it turns out that it was even better. We had it for dessert. It was nice and hot with freezing cold ice-cream topped on it, YUMMY just thinking about it makes me drool. Now, today my mom and I are baking another one and I am so excited. STAY TUNE !!

I got a couple comments asking me to post a video of ripstik. So I thought why not !
Before I get into the video some people might not be sure what a ripstik is and how it is different from a skateboard. ( For this there are going to be different fonts so enjoy)
A ripstik has 2 wheels and is really hard to balance on.
A skateboard has 4 wheels and is pretty easy to balance on.
So there you have it, they are pretty much the same thing but the wheels are what sets them apart.

So, Deepti asks me what I play on the PS4 and I said “Frontline.” Do you know what it is?
Deepti asks me what I do at these corona times. Well the answer to that question is complicated. You see that I read, my dad gives me homework and a night time to cool off, I play on my PS4. Playing on my PS4 gives me a great opportunity to communicate with friends I don’t have on facetime on my iphone.
After I explain to her that another question suddenly pops into her head. What do you play on the PS4? She asked if I could tell she was curious.
Like this cat is probably thinking “ WHAT IS THAT UGLY AND TINY THING THAT I AM LOOKING AT !!!”
Ok back to the diary,
So I said “Fortnite” .
You have probably heard of it because it is a popular game. If you haven’t here is an image to go with it. You should play it. It is an amazing game. You can play on PS4, Xbox, nintendo switch, Ipad or you can say mobile. There are so many platforms and you can also play cross platform too.

Guess what, I am continuing on this topic of CONSISTENCY. Today I am going to write a story of the Hare and the Turtle. And in many ways, we need to be like a turtle.

Hi everyone today I am continuing on the consistency topic.
I am gonna bring up a story and that explains everything about consistency. It is the hare and the turtle story.
That story explained the difference between consistency and talent. The hare ( a hare is like a big rabbit) had all the talent in the world. He was fast. But then a fine day the turtle challenged him to a race. Everyone laughed and thought that the turtle was crazy.
So when the race started the hare sped ahead and left the turtle in his dust he ran so far that he thought of having a nap under a shady tree. Turtle slowly inched his way to the finish line. By the time that hare woke up the turtle was almost at the finish line and the hare ran with all his might but in the end the turtle won.
That proves that if you are consistent and you don’t have any talent you will still win. But if you have all the talent and you are not consistent you will lose and never be able to catch up.
Now I will be writing every couple of hours if an idea pops up into my head so be sure to check my page out often!😜

Now that Corona is here my family and I go for more walks and it is really fun.
I have learned to ride way more vehicles like a ripstik and skateboard ( I am mostly improving on the skateboard) and it has been an amazing experience.

My dad has given me a challenge. The challenge is to run 10 kilometers ( 6.2 miles) in 70 mins. I am practicing and it is pretty hard. Right now I have been practicing with 3 miles ( 5 km) and I am doing good. Well bye see you tomorrow.

My biggest lesson for today – BE CONSISTENT
If you ever wanna become famous or a lot of people to know you or anything like that, weather you’re writing, making videos or anything you have to be consistent.
When I started writing I wrote for the first couple of days but then I got a little bored and stopped. That wasn’t my best move, I should have kept going and I would have had a bunch of Diaries by now. I’ve been writing for 1 month but not have more than 7 Diaries.
I am planning to write other stuff like stories and short books to publish in Deepti’s Blog. See you tomorrow. 🙂

Day 8: My life lesson, “You don’t know what you have till you don’t have it.”

Everyone is learning lessons from this time and I have too. The lesson that I have learned if you don’t know what you have till you don’t have it. There are a lot of meanings to what I just said and this is what I mean. Long ago before the corona I used to hate to go grocery shopping and now I miss it so much. Another thing that I really miss is being able to play with my friends. I miss so many things and I also hope that I can look forward to seeing them real soon. I hope everyone else has learned a lesson too.

Day 7: The school bus parked behind the fence. When will they start their engine?
I looked out the window, all the school buses parked behind the fence. I wanted them to start their engines and come to our bus stop and pick us up. I never thought that I would say this but I really miss school, I don’t think any kid wants to stay home and not go to school. I really miss going to school and all the fun school bus rides I had with my friends. All the fun recesses that my friends and I had. I hope that the corona ends soon because I want to ride on school buses again.

Day 6: I was supposed to graduate this year.
Man this whomps. I was at this school for 4 years and I didn’t get to graduate. I have been to 4 different schools in 8 years and this was the time that I actually got to graduate one.
This was my last year at Hes (Hillsborough Elementary school) but this DUMB corona came around and ruined everything. You might think that it isn’t much but i’ll give you a list of what we are going to miss. First of all we were going to have a field trip to B.S.C ( BranchBurg Sports Complex) and we were going to play laser tag. Another thing that we missed was a visit to our next school, and the best thing in the year field day when we get to be as competitive as we want and even our fourth grade show. I have practiced all the songs and it was of no use.
I get so annoyed It is so frustrating just not being able to do anything.

Day 5: I am enjoying increased family time
Do you enjoy this whole close-down? Well I’m 50-50.
You are probably wondering why I “kinda” like it, I’ll happily tell you. You see that now everyone’s home, my family can spend so much more time together like playing board games (except when my little brother is around). And we watch so many more movies together. I love spending time together as a family. It is so much fun. Nowadays when I am bored I write in both my diaries (like I am right now) or I sometimes write comics. LIKE THIS
There are so many things that I love to do when I am at home and there are so many things that increase, like family time (the only thing that I don’t like is that my little brother is always troubling me, and treats me like a punching bag).
I hope that the corona is just like a new flu and in a year or so there will be a cure and if you get it you can just get healed. And here’s a short list of things that you can do at home if you get bored.
- Write a comic
- Draw a picture
- The one and only…watch a movie.
So…there are so many things that you can do with your family nowadays so take advantage of everyone being home. =) Hope you enjoyed my diary so far.

Day 4: I miss my friends. I try to remain positive
When our teacher said that we were getting homeschooled I was so excited and thought it was going to be like summer vacation but turns out I really want to go back to school and I miss my friends and teacher. When I try to work at home, my brother thinks that I am going to play with him all day long and that makes it really hard to work. Another thing that I would like to say is that it is really hard to work at home and I don’t have my own desk so I have to work at the table and there are so many distractions.
Also when there is good weather I have an urge to go play outside. My brother is always playing outside when it is good weather so I always get jealous of him. Another thing is that the sun is always shining nowadays like nature is messing with me but it never shined when the corona wasn’t there.
And the last thing I want to say to everyone who is upset about the corona is “Just think positive and that someone will always have your back when you are going through hard or difficult. ”

Day 3: One kid got corona too
Nowadays I am basically stuck in my house. I can’t go outside to play with my friends and that makes life right now really boring. Also, my best friend Rishab and I used to see each other every week and now we can only see each other through facetime. My life has really changed because of the corona and I can’t do all the things I used to and it has affected everyone. Another thing I would like to say is a kid from Amsterdam Elementary got the corona and that is really scary, and he was also the first kid in Hillsborough to get it . I feel really sorry for the kid and I really hope he recovers soon.

Day 2: I don’t blame the nature
Corona is striking the world. We are the world’s warriors and we are losing the battle terribly. 700,000 of our soldiers are affected. It is a terrible tragedy and we are contained in our houses not being able to step out. The United States has 125,000 cases the most in New York followed by New Jersey even though New Jersey is a tiny state. It is so close to New York. I live in New Jersey and It’s kinda scary that there are so many cases in New Jersey.
My family and I were planning to go to India for a vacation in July but now because of Corona we are not sure that we will be able to make it. . For me, Corona feels like nature’s revenge of telling us to take care of it. I mean I don’t blame nature for doing this because we have been mistreating it for 100’s of years. Chopping trees down, throwing plastic into the oceans, causing global warming, and a lot of other things that harm the planet, I mean if we don’t take care of earth in a 1,000 years something 1000 times worse will happen to the future generations.

Day 1: I got an idea
Deepti asked me about the corona and how I feel about it. I thought about it for a second, and then replied,”Hungry.” Deepti looked at me like she saw something weird or strange because there isn’t a shortage of food in the house. I could tell that she was confused right away so I started expanding on my answer. “Well you see now that the Corona is here. Eating at restaurants, like Taco Bell, McDonalds, Chillies, Dunkin Doughnuts etc is not an option and the only outside food that we get is pizza and that is only like once in 3 weeks.”
Deepti looked like a volcano that was about to erupt with laughter. “Out of all the things in the world you chose Taco Bell.” she exclaimed! After she managed to stop laughing she said, “You could’ve said that parks are closing down, schools are closed and you miss your friends, or that a lot of resources are low, or the biggest possibility that you are scared.”
“Well I do feel those things but so does everyone else and I wanted my answer to be different and gave and grin I mean ask anyone else they won’t say what I started off with.” This conversation with Deepti gave me the idea of writing of writing a Corona diary.
